About the Cell
The SC/ST Cell of RABD Mahavidyalaya, Hansari Madawara, Lalitpur has been established
as per the directions of the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the
Government of India to ensure the welfare, protection, and equal opportunity of
students belonging to the Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST).
The Cell works to eliminate discrimination, promote awareness about government welfare schemes, and
support SC/ST students in academic and personal development.
Objectives
- To implement policies and programs for the welfare of SC/ST students and staff.
- To ensure non-discrimination against SC/ST individuals in the campus community.
- To assist SC/ST students in availing scholarships and financial aid from government bodies.
- To address grievances and complaints related to caste-based discrimination.
- To organize seminars and workshops on constitutional rights and social justice.
UGC Guidelines Overview
As per UGC Guidelines:
- Every Higher Educational Institution must establish an SC/ST Cell to safeguard the interests of SC/ST students and employees.
- The Cell must function as a grievance redressal and advisory body for matters related to reservation and welfare schemes.
- The Cell is required to maintain records and submit annual reports on welfare activities.
How to Lodge a Complaint
Any SC/ST student, faculty, or staff member facing discrimination or difficulties can approach the
Chairperson of the SC/ST Cell in person or via email.
- Complaints can be made in writing to the Chairperson or any Cell member.
- Alternatively, grievances can be sent via email to the college’s official SC/ST Cell address.
- All complaints are handled confidentially and with sensitivity.
